Usually yes. Most callouts we attend are a failed belt, roller, carriage, control board or sensor rather than a dead motor. We diagnose first and only recommend replacement when the repair cost approaches the cost of a new operator.
Only if a battery backup is fitted. We strongly recommend it on any entrance that is also an escape route, and it is a code requirement in many commercial buildings. Without it the door must be pushed open manually.
A straightforward operator replacement is typically a single day. A complete new automatic entrance including glass and track usually takes two to three days depending on lead time on the glass.
